How does this letter break the stereotype Parvana had about the Taliban? Not every Taliban is a bad person.
Why do you think the composer (Deborah Ellis) found it necessary to include this incident in the story? Because it tell not just story but it also teach us other thing like how people use there own power to do the right thing.
Chapter Eight
How does Mrs Weera take charge of the family? because when she is around Mother feels like “her old self”
Describe three ways that Mrs Weera’s strength of character is shown in this chapter. : Mrs. Weera used to be a gym teacher? Apparently she also won a gold medal for being the “fastest runner in all of Afghanistan”
What gifts did Parvana receive from the woman in the window above her at the marketplace (pg 95-96). Parvana get a little smile from that woman.
What discovery does Parvana make at the end of the chapter? Parvarva discovery that The tea boy was a girl from her class.
Chapter Nine
“So there were other girls like her in Kabul!” (pg 98). What does Parvana mean by this statement? it mean memory that Parvana remembers her father saying that Kabul is filled with land mines, just like the one that killed her brother.
In what way are Parvana, Shauzia and the Window Woman engaging in dangerous activities in the Taliban-ruled society? What point do you think Ellis is making by including this in the story? because it might tell that not just Parvana who want to try break the rule and that woman smile to her because her feel good to see someone who break Taliban rule and I guess she also know Parvana is a girl not a boy.
Chapter Ten
How have Parvana and Shauzia decided to make more money in this chapter? Yes they make much money in this chapter.
“When things get better and we grow up, we have to remember that there was a day when we were kids when we stood in a graveyard and dug up bones to sell so that our families could eat” (pg 113). What does this statement reveal about Parvana’s attitude towards the in future? it tell don’t forget there past but use that past become there power to live.
